Sobeys donating surplus food to food banks
Sobeys stepping up to help Food Banks and curb waste all at once.
The Grocery chain says surplus food that is close to or past its best before date but still safe to eat will go to food banks.
They'll donate both fresh, frozen and canned goods - as well as other often-overlooked items, like health and beauty products.
The pilot project in Moncton has seen 36,000 kilos of food donated to their food banks since April.
